Some seriously impressive knitting fitting this post box – and excellent community commemoration for Remembrance Sunday.

Its really hard to believe this church – at the end of a 20th century road – was built in the 15th century!

Very pretty Michaelmas daisies – sprouting despite the chill.

An ancient recipe for jam rolypoly – published by a Mrs. Isabella Beeton in 1861.

Some more extremely skilled knitting – and a lot of team work – must’ve gone into creating this mound (in the old kitchen at Chalecote Park – there’s over 700 of all sorts of pumpkins, squashes, and probably the odd gourd).

This was a gorey scene to spot… (I hope all these are genuinely plastic).

Frosty cobwebs were all over this thorny plant I noticed early one morning.

My first attempt at carrot cake baking (and it was entirely edible – nothing added to my Accidental Recipe notepad this time).

What you see on maple trees in the autumn – these seeds hadn’t done their dropping off yet (despite all the recent gusts).

…and the way we’ve been staying warm while the very cold winds passed by.
