One of the spider family emerged to say hello (I’ve been told – since a very young terrified of spiders child – the spider family of 4 live in a crack in the wall in our household; – and them each being named meant my fear of them lessened).

… and this this rather inquisitive individual was very keen to pose for a close up when I – wandering through a field – went over and introduced myself.

A tree stump we passed by that had had masses of metal coins whacked into it – (and passing it got me reading about the folklore of wishing trees).

The very summery scene of trekking across the huge local lavender fields with Uncle…

…and just how far they stretched into the countryside.

There’s been a good variety of feathered friends gathering together for feasting out in the sunny garden (all agreeing to pose while and after having a peck)…

…and this little post box shaped bird house has been browsed by different species, but – despite the blackberries that have ripened all around it – there’s been no little birds take up residence yet…

…though there’s been lots of creatures willing to brave the bright sunshine.

A fried ice cream lump – a substance we’ve discovered to be a perfect mix of warm, cool, and crunchy to consume during this heatwave.
